Hi, I’m Katherine. I am an artist and photographer based in Indianapolis.
Life is an incredible rollercoaster of emotions, milestones, and adventures. For me, art is a way to see and explore the depth and breadth of the human experience. With photography I seek to capture individuals and the world they live in beautifully and honestly, documenting moments and adventures as they were, and I extend these goals to my creation of art across several mediums. My work is bold, honest, often irreverent, and unafraid. As a queer woman, I seek to document, celebrate, and tell the stories of folx of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and racial identities.
In recent years, I have focused on shooting more with film and use a mixture of formats to create images that feel warm, intimate, and real. To connect with myself, I have been working in ceramic, wool, and painting in watercolor to further explore ways of expressing myself. I can often be found covered in mud working at Alley Cat Ceramics on the near East side in Indianapolis, combining my love of sculptural work and painting to create works in clay.
